Why look for a Zendesk alternative
Zendesk's Instagram Direct channel handles DMs and story replies, but its documentation says comments and replies on posts and Reels do not create tickets. If buyers ask for prices in your comments, Zendesk will not pick those up; GetChat's comment trigger will.
Zendesk is priced per agent, and Instagram needs a Suite plan or the social messaging add-on. AI agents include a small number of automated resolutions per agent each month, with more charged per resolution. GetChat has no agents to pay for; its plans are sized by automated conversations a month, from 300 on Free to 25,000 on Growth.
Zendesk is a large system to configure: triggers, views, routing and AI agents. GetChat is set up around Instagram triggers and ready-made templates.
Where GetChat fits
Turn Instagram comments into DMs on every GetChat plan, with a follow check, story and reaction triggers and media in replies included.
Pro and Growth add a reminder DM for people who did not finish and advanced analytics per automation.
Everyone who goes through an automation becomes a contact with tags and follow status, exportable to CSV; a Webhook step can also post each automation event to your own system.
When Zendesk is the better fit
You run a support team with SLAs, routing, voice and a help center across email, web, WhatsApp, Messenger and social. Zendesk is built for that scope; GetChat is not.
You need channels GetChat does not have: email, web messaging, WhatsApp, Messenger, X, LINE, WeChat or Apple Messages for Business.
You rely on integrations. Zendesk lists 1,800+ marketplace apps and APIs; GetChat has no public API or Zapier listing; it sends each automation event to your own URL through a Webhook step.
You want AI agents that hand over to human agents, and AI assistance for those agents: Zendesk sells a Copilot add-on at $50 per agent/month billed annually. GetChat has no AI and no agent workspace.
Pricing explained
According to its pricing page (checked October 2026), Zendesk Support Team is $19 per agent/month billed annually ($25 monthly), Suite Team is $55 annually ($69 monthly) and Suite Professional is $115 annually ($149 monthly). Suite Team includes 5 automated resolutions per agent each month and Suite Professional 10; additional resolutions are $1.50 each when committed or $2.00 pay-as-you-go. Private social channels such as Instagram Direct are not available on Support-only plans without the add-on.
GetChat charges by automated conversations, not by agent or resolution: Free includes 300 a month, Pro 5,000 at $12 a month ($120 a year) and Growth 25,000 at $29 a month ($288 a year). Free has no time limit and needs no card.

GetChat
GetChat prices each plan by automated conversations a month, not by contacts or seats: Free includes 300, Pro 5,000 and Growth 25,000, and every plan allows unlimited active automations. One conversation is one person going through one automation within 24 hours.

- Growth$29 a month5 Instagram accounts, 25 000 automated conversations a month

Every account starts on Free, with no time limit and no card. Pro and Growth add conversations, Instagram accounts and reminder messages.
Switching from Zendesk to GetChat
- Instagram triggers, comment replies and follow checks have to be built in GetChat; Zendesk triggers and macros do not transfer.
- Reconnect Instagram through Meta login. If Zendesk keeps the channel for support, decide which tool answers which messages.
- Keep support tickets, help articles and AI agents in Zendesk; GetChat sends fixed messages you write and has no knowledge base.
- Ticket history stays in Zendesk; GetChat builds its contact list from the people who go through its automations.
