Why look for a Freshchat alternative

Freshchat is a support inbox. Instagram comments reach agents, but we did not find an automation that DMs every commenter. GetChat's comment trigger on posts and Reels does that on every plan, and a follow check can sit before the final message, also on every plan.

Freshchat's pricing page puts Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp on Growth and above, priced per agent, and AI agent sessions beyond the first 500 are sold in packs. GetChat's Free plan includes comment, DM keyword and story triggers, and no plan is priced per agent.

The two answer different questions. Freshchat helps agents reply to customers, with Freddy AI taking some of the load; GetChat sends a fixed sequence you write yourself (DM, follow check, final link) and leaves any further conversation to you in Instagram.

Where GetChat fits

Use comment-to-DM on posts and Reels to send a link or offer to everyone who comments a keyword, with buttons, a photo or a video in the DM.

Put a follow check before the final message, on any plan; on Pro and Growth, a reminder DM goes to people who did not finish.

Everyone who goes through an automation is saved as a contact with tags and follow status, exportable as CSV.

When Freshchat is the better fit

You need web chat, email, WhatsApp, SMS or LINE in the same inbox. Freshchat covers them; GetChat covers Instagram only.

Pricing explained

According to its pricing page (checked 16 October 2026), Freshchat has a Free plan for up to 10 agents. Growth is $19 per agent/month billed annually, Pro $49 and Enterprise $79, all per agent billed annually; we could not verify the monthly-billing prices on the page. The Freddy AI Agent includes the first 500 sessions, then costs $49 per 100 sessions. Freddy AI Copilot is $29 per agent/month extra.

GetChat is priced by automated conversations a month, not by agent or session: Free $0 with 300, Pro $12 a month ($120 a year) with 5,000, Growth $29 a month ($288 a year) with 25,000. One conversation is one person going through one automation within 24 hours. Free has no time limit and needs no card.

A Freshchat bill grows with the number of agents; a GetChat bill grows with the number of people your automations reach. Count both for your own team and monthly comment volume before comparing.

Switching from Freshchat to GetChat

• Set up comment triggers in GetChat for the posts and Reels you promote, with the DM text, buttons and an optional follow check.
• Reconnect each Instagram account to GetChat through Meta login. GetChat allows 1 account on Free, 2 on Pro and 5 on Growth.
• Keep Freshchat (or another inbox) if agents still need to answer Instagram DMs by hand; GetChat does not replace the inbox, and conversation history stays in Freshchat.
