Looking for a Botpress alternative?
Botpress is a broad AI agent platform with official Instagram DM, WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram and web chat integrations. GetChat is narrower: Instagram comment and DM automation with a follow check, without AI, priced by automated conversations a month.

Quick answer: GetChat or Botpress?
- What Botpress does well
- Botpress is built for teams that want to design custom AI agents, with code-level control, public APIs and many official channel integrations.
- Where GetChat overlaps
- Both Botpress and GetChat can answer Instagram DMs automatically, and both have a Free plan.
- The main tradeoff
- Botpress documents Instagram as a direct-message channel for an AI agent, while GetChat sends the messages you write from Instagram-specific triggers such as comment-to-DM, story replies and a follow check.
- Who should consider each
- Botpress suits builders shipping one AI agent across web and many messaging apps; GetChat suits Instagram sellers and creators who want ready-made triggers without building an agent.

Why look for a Botpress alternative
Botpress is a general-purpose agent builder. Its Instagram integration documentation covers people messaging your account; it does not describe comment-to-DM or story triggers. If most of your conversations start from Instagram comments or stories, that difference matters more than anything else on this page.
Pricing works differently. Botpress counts conversations per month and draws AI usage from a dollar balance with automatic top-ups. GetChat has no AI usage to meter: plans include 300 (Free), 5,000 (Pro) or 25,000 (Growth) automated conversations a month.
Setup also differs. Botpress connects Instagram through a published bot and, for manual setup, your own Meta developer app. GetChat connects Instagram through Meta login inside the product and gives you templates for comment and DM triggers.
Where GetChat fits
If your sales start when someone comments a keyword under a Reel, GetChat's comment-to-DM trigger sends them the link or price in a DM, on every plan including Free.
Story reply, story mention and reaction triggers, and a step that asks people to follow before they receive the content, are on every plan too.
Pro and Growth add a reminder DM for people who started and did not finish, and remove the GetChat branding from messages.
Contacts collected by automations are kept with tags and follow status and can be exported as CSV; a Webhook step can also post each automation event to your own system.
When Botpress is the better fit
You need one AI agent across web chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram and Instagram. Botpress has official integrations for all of them; GetChat offers only Instagram.
You have developers who want code-level control, public APIs for chat, tables and files, and helpdesk handoff to tools like Zendesk or Intercom.
You need enterprise items Botpress lists, such as role-based access, an uptime SLA, a security review or a voice channel.
You want AI to answer open-ended questions, with a handoff to a human agent. Botpress is built for that; GetChat has no AI replies and no inbox.
Pricing explained
According to its pricing page (checked October 2026), Botpress has a Free plan with 100 conversations a month and no included AI credit. Plus is listed at $150 a month billed annually with 250 conversations and $25 of AI spend included; Team is $750 a month billed annually with 1,500 conversations and $150 of AI spend. Extra conversations are sold in packs of 100, and AI spend tops up automatically in $10 grants when the limit is near. A monthly billing option exists, but its prices were not shown in the page text we read.
GetChat has three plans: Free ($0, 300 automated conversations a month), Pro ($12 a month or $120 a year, 5,000) and Growth ($29 a month or $288 a year, 25,000). An automated conversation is one person going through one automation, counted once per 24 hours.
GetChat's Free plan has no time limit and needs no card; there is no separate trial.

GetChat
GetChat prices each plan by automated conversations a month, not by contacts or seats: Free includes 300, Pro 5,000 and Growth 25,000, and every plan allows unlimited active automations. One conversation is one person going through one automation within 24 hours.

Every account starts on Free, with no time limit and no card. Pro and Growth add conversations, Instagram accounts and reminder messages.
Switching from Botpress to GetChat
- Rebuild your Botpress workflows as GetChat triggers and flows: DM keywords, comment keywords per post or Reel, and story triggers where you need them.
- Botpress AI knowledge does not carry over: GetChat has no AI, so write the answers you need as fixed messages in each automation.
- Reconnect Instagram to GetChat through Meta login and turn off the Botpress Instagram integration so people do not get two replies.
- Keep Botpress for web chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram and any AI agent work; GetChat does not replace those.
Questions about Botpress and GetChat

Botpress's Instagram integration documentation describes direct messages only, and we did not find comment-to-DM on its official pages. GetChat includes comment-to-DM on posts and Reels on every plan.
Which is better if I also need WhatsApp or a website chat?
Botpress, because it has official WhatsApp, Messenger and web chat integrations. GetChat covers Instagram only.
How do the two charge?
Botpress counts conversations and draws AI usage from a dollar AI spend balance. GetChat has no AI and counts automated conversations: 300, 5,000 or 25,000 a month by plan.
Do I need a developer for either?
Botpress offers a visual studio plus code-level tools and APIs, and manual Instagram setup uses your own Meta app. GetChat is set up from templates and Meta login inside the product.
