Quick answer: GetChat or Chatfuel?
- What Chatfuel does well
- Chatfuel puts one AI agent across WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and a website widget, with bookings, catalog and payments built in.
- Where GetChat overlaps
- Chatfuel and GetChat both send a private DM from a post or Reel comment, answer Instagram DMs by keyword and react to story replies.
- The main tradeoff
- Chatfuel charges a subscription plus wallet usage for AI and WhatsApp, while GetChat has no AI and no wallet: each plan includes a set number of automated conversations a month.
- Who should consider each
- Chatfuel fits businesses that need WhatsApp and an AI agent on many channels; GetChat fits Instagram sellers and creators who want keyword flows, comment-to-DM and a follow check without AI.

Why look for a Chatfuel alternative
A follow check is a clear split. Chatfuel's help center says it cannot DM new followers, and we found no follow check; GetChat can check that a person follows before the final message, on every plan.
The cost model is different. Chatfuel's subscription includes a monthly USD credit balance, and AI replies, WhatsApp templates and Meta-billed WhatsApp messages draw from it, with card auto top-up when it runs out. GetChat has no wallet: Free includes 300 automated conversations a month, Pro 5,000 and Growth 25,000, and nothing is drawn per message.
Getting started differs. Chatfuel has no free plan; its 7-day trial asks for card details. GetChat has a Free plan with comment-to-DM and keyword triggers, with no time limit and no card, and no trial.
Chatfuel is AI-first: each Instagram source is handled by its Fuely AI agent, with custom rules per post, story or keyword. GetChat is rule-based only: it sends the messages you write, with no AI.
Where GetChat fits
If your audience is on Instagram, GetChat covers comment-to-DM, keyword DMs and story reply, mention and reaction triggers on every plan.
For rewards and lead magnets, GetChat can check for a follow before sending the reward, on every plan; Pro and Growth add a reminder DM to people who did not finish.
If you want every reply to be text you wrote rather than AI output, GetChat's automations send exactly that: text, buttons, a photo or a video.
Contacts from automations are kept with tags and follow status and can be exported as CSV.
When Chatfuel is the better fit
You need WhatsApp. Chatfuel is a WhatsApp Business Solution Provider with broadcasts and templates; GetChat does not offer WhatsApp.
You want one AI agent on Facebook Messenger, TikTok and a website chat widget as well as Instagram. GetChat covers none of those three.
You need appointment booking, a product catalog with payments in chat, or a GraphQL API that can send messages and edit flows.
You are an agency that wants several client companies under one wallet and one bill, with unlimited teammates.
You want AI to answer open questions and a live chat where your team takes over. GetChat has no AI replies and no inbox.
Pricing explained
According to Chatfuel's pricing page (checked October 2026), Business costs $20/month billed monthly or $18/month billed yearly, with $20 of credits included each month. The agency tier on the pricing page costs $100/month ($90 yearly) with $100 of credits and up to 3 companies. Its help center lists larger Agency plans up to $2,050/month. Credits pay for AI replies, WhatsApp templates and the WhatsApp messages Meta charges for, and unused credits do not carry over.
GetChat has three plans priced in US dollars: Free ($0, 300 automated conversations a month), Pro ($12 a month or $120 a year, 5,000) and Growth ($29 a month or $288 a year, 25,000).
With Chatfuel the monthly cost depends on how much AI and WhatsApp traffic you run. With GetChat it depends on how many people go through your automations each month.

Switching from Chatfuel to GetChat
- Recreate your Instagram comment rules, keywords and DM texts as GetChat automations; Chatfuel automations are not imported.
- Chatfuel's AI knowledge base does not transfer; GetChat has no AI, so write the answers you need as automation messages.
- Reconnect Instagram to GetChat through Meta login and switch off the Chatfuel Instagram sources so comments are not answered twice.
- WhatsApp, Facebook, TikTok and website conversations have no equivalent in GetChat, so keep another tool for those channels if you need them.
